Method
- Brew 8 ounces of hot coffee at around 200°F (93°C) using your preferred method, about 5 minutes.
- Measure 1 to 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, starting with 1 tablespoon for desired sweetness.
- Pour the hot coffee into a mug while it is still hot to ensure the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add the measured brown sugar to the coffee.
- Stir thoroughly for about 30 seconds until the brown sugar fully dissolves.
- Add a pinch of sea salt and stir again to enhance sweetness and complexity.
- Warm 1/4 cup whole milk or cream if using and pour it into the coffee, or add cold milk for an iced version.
- Taste the coffee and adjust sweetness by adding more brown sugar if desired.
Notes
Dissolve brown sugar in a small amount of hot water before adding it to the coffee to prevent grittiness and achieve the smoothest sweetness.
