Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 ounces golden rum aged or spiced rum works well
  • 0.5 ounces banana liqueur
  • 1 ounce coconut cream or coconut milk cream
  • 1 ounce heavy cream optional, for extra richness
  • Ice cubes
  • Pinch of nutmeg optional garnish
  • Banana slice or cherry optional garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mason jar
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Bar spoon or long spoon
  • Strainer
  • Rocks glass or coupe glass
  • Ice cubes

Method
 

  1. Chill your rocks glass or coupe glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
  2. Measure and pour 1.5 ounces golden rum, 0.5 ounces banana liqueur, 1 ounce coconut cream, and 1 ounce heavy cream into your cocktail shaker or mason jar.
  3. Add a generous handful of ice cubes to the shaker, filling it about halfway.
  4. Seal the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker frosts over.
  5. Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and place a fine strainer over it.
  6. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass, discarding any ice shards.
  7. Garnish with a pinch of nutmeg and a slice of banana or a cherry on the rim.
  8. Serve immediately while the drink is still cold and the foam is at its peak.

Notes

Serve immediately while cold for the best texture and flavor.
