Method
- Chill your highball or copper mule glass in the freezer for at least five minutes.
- Add 8 to 10 fresh blueberries to a cocktail shaker or mason jar.
- Muddle the blueberries gently for 10 to 15 seconds to release their juices without pulverizing them.
- Pour in 2 ounces (60 milliliters) of vodka and 0.5 ounce (15 milliliters) of fresh lime juice.
- Fill the shaker halfway with ice and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and cold.
- Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and fill it with fresh ice.
- Strain the cocktail mixture into the prepared glass using a cocktail strainer to catch pulp and ice chips.
- Top the drink with 4 to 5 ounces (120 to 150 milliliters) of ginger beer.
- Stir gently with a bar spoon to combine all ingredients.
- Garnish with a lime wheel or a few fresh blueberries on a pick and serve immediately.
Notes
Use a fine mesh strainer as a secondary filter for an ultra-smooth drink without any pulp texture.
