Method
- Fill a coupe or martini glass with ice and set aside to chill.
- Cut a fresh lemon in half and juice it to extract 1 ounce of lemon juice.
- Place 6 to 8 fresh blueberries in a cocktail shaker and muddle gently to release their juice.
- Add 2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce fresh lemon juice, and 0.75 ounce blueberry liqueur or syrup to the shaker.
- Add 0.5 ounce simple syrup or 0.75 ounce if using blueberry puree instead of liqueur.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until frosty.
- Discard the ice from the chilled glass and strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer into the glass.
- Garnish with a lemon twist or skewered blueberries and serve immediately.
Notes
Serve immediately after straining to maintain optimal chill and clarity.
