Blackberry Juice

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 2 cups of fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup optional

  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Measuring cups
  • Large bowl
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Glass jars or bottles for storage

Method
 

  1. Rinse the blackberries under cold water.
  2. Combine blackberries, water, and lemon juice in a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Add honey or agave syrup if desired, and blend again briefly.
  4. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl to remove pulp and seeds.
  5. Press down on the pulp with a spoon to extract more juice.
  6. Transfer the juice to glass jars, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled over ice for a refreshing treat, or use as a base for cocktails.
