Method
- Place your rocks glass or coupe glass in the freezer for 3 to 5 minutes to chill.
- Cut a fresh lemon in half and juice it to extract 0.75 ounces of juice.
- Fill a cocktail shaker two-thirds full with large ice cubes.
- Pour 1.5 ounces of gin into the ice-filled shaker using a jigger.
- Add 0.5 ounces of blackberry liqueur to the shaker.
- Add 0.75 ounces of freshly squeezed lemon juice to the shaker.
- Add 0.5 ounces of simple syrup to the shaker.
- Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until frosty.
- Remove the chilled glass from the freezer and strain the cocktail into it.
- Add one or two large ice cubes to the glass.
- Garnish with 2 to 3 fresh blackberries and a lemon wheel or twist.
- Serve immediately while the cocktail is still ice-cold.
Notes
Always use fresh lemon juice and large ice cubes; these two details alone transform an average bramble into an exceptional one.
