Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 cups silver tequila
  • 3 cups fresh grapefruit juice
  • 0.75 cup fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 cup agave nectar or simple syrup
  • 0.5 cup soda water or club soda
  • Sea salt for rimming glasses
  • Grapefruit wedges or slices for garnish
  • Lime wheels for garnish
  • Ice for serving

Equipment

  • Large pitcher (at least 2 quarts)
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Bar spoon or long stirring spoon
  • Cocktail glasses
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Jigger (optional)

Method
 

  1. Juice 3 cups of grapefruit and 0.75 cup of lime using a citrus juicer.
  2. Pour 1.5 cups of silver tequila into the pitcher.
  3. Add the fresh grapefruit juice and lime juice to the tequila.
  4. Stir in 0.5 cup of agave nectar for 30 seconds until fully dissolved.
  5. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  6. Just before serving, stir in 0.5 cup of soda water to preserve carbonation.
  7. Rub each glass rim with a grapefruit wedge and dip in sea salt.
  8. Fill glasses with ice, pour the paloma mixture, and garnish with grapefruit slices or lime wheels.

Notes

Chill the batch in advance and add soda water just before serving for maximum fizz.
