  • 2 ounces premium silver tequila
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 ounce triple sec or Cointreau
  • 0.5 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • Kosher salt for rimming
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wheel for garnish

  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Citrus juicer or reamer
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer
  • Coupe or rocks glass
  • Cutting board and knife

Method
 

  1. Place the coupe or rocks glass in the freezer for at least 5 minutes to chill.
  2. Cut the lime and lemon in half and juice them using a citrus juicer or reamer.
  3. Pour kosher salt onto a small plate, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, and press the rim into the salt to coat evenly.
  4. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes until it is about two-thirds full.
  5. Add 2 ounces of premium silver tequila to the shaker using a jigger for accuracy.
  6. Add 0.5 ounce of triple sec or Cointreau to the shaker.
  7. Add 1 ounce of fresh lime juice and 0.5 ounce of fresh lemon juice to the shaker.
  8. Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds until the outside becomes frosty.
  9. Strain the margarita into the salt-rimmed glass over fresh ice using a strainer.
  10. Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh citrus juice and chill your glass beforehand to ensure a crisp, balanced margarita.
