Method
- Rinse fresh ginger under cool water and thinly slice into coin-size pieces.
- Bring 6 cups of filtered water to a rolling boil in a large kettle or pot over high heat (approx. 212°F, about 5 minutes).
- Add green tea bags or loose leaves and sliced ginger to the hot water; steep green tea for 3 to 4 minutes to avoid bitterness.
- Stir in dried chamomile flowers and dried peppermint leaves; steep for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add lemon slices and optional cinnamon stick and turmeric; steep together for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Use a fine-mesh strainer to remove tea bags, ginger, herbs, and spices; discard solids.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
- Transfer cooled tea to a glass jar with an airtight lid and refrigerate for up to 6 days.
- Serve chilled over ice or gently reheat to 160–170°F before sipping slowly.
