Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1.5 ounces 45 ml vodka
  • 1 ounce 30 ml Bailey's Irish Cream
  • 1 ounce 30 ml fresh espresso
  • 1 cup ice
  • 3 whole coffee beans for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger
  • Strainer
  • coupe or martini glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Espresso machine

Method
 

  1. Pull a fresh shot of espresso into a small cup or directly into your shaker.
  2. Place your coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least two minutes to chill.
  3. Add 1 cup of ice to your cocktail shaker, filling it about three-quarters full.
  4. Measure and pour 1.5 ounces of vodka into the shaker.
  5. Measure and add 1 ounce of Bailey's Irish Cream to the shaker.
  6. Add the 1 ounce of fresh espresso to the shaker, letting it cool slightly if piping hot.
  7. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until frosty.
  8. Strain the cocktail into your chilled glass using a Hawthorne or fine mesh strainer to preserve the crema.
  9. Garnish with 3 whole coffee beans on top of the crema.

Notes

Let espresso cool to room temperature before shaking to ensure proper chilling and crema formation. Serve immediately to enjoy the fresh foam layer.
