Method
- Pull a fresh shot of espresso into a small cup or directly into your shaker.
- Place your coupe or martini glass in the freezer for at least two minutes to chill.
- Add 1 cup of ice to your cocktail shaker, filling it about three-quarters full.
- Measure and pour 1.5 ounces of vodka into the shaker.
- Measure and add 1 ounce of Bailey's Irish Cream to the shaker.
- Add the 1 ounce of fresh espresso to the shaker, letting it cool slightly if piping hot.
- Close the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until frosty.
- Strain the cocktail into your chilled glass using a Hawthorne or fine mesh strainer to preserve the crema.
- Garnish with 3 whole coffee beans on top of the crema.
Notes
Let espresso cool to room temperature before shaking to ensure proper chilling and crema formation. Serve immediately to enjoy the fresh foam layer.
