  • 1.5 ounces apple cider fresh or store-bought, chilled
  • 0.5 ounces dry vermouth
  • 0.25 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes for shaking
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for rimming
  • 1 teaspoon sugar for rimming
  • Apple slice or cinnamon stick for garnish optional

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or mixing glass
  • Bar strainer
  • Jigger for measuring
  • Martini glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Small shallow plate or saucer for rimming
  • Citrus juicer or squeeze bottle

Method

  1. Chill your martini glass in the freezer for at least 3 minutes.
  2. Mix 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon with 1 teaspoon sugar on a small shallow plate for rimming.
  3. Run a lemon wedge around the rim of the chilled glass, then dip it into the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat evenly.
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker or mixing glass with a generous handful of ice cubes.
  5. Measure and add 2 ounces vodka and 0.5 ounces dry vermouth to the shaker using a jigger.
  6. Pour 1.5 ounces chilled apple cider and 0.25 ounce fresh lemon juice into the shaker.
  7. Cover the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until well chilled.
  8. Strain the mixture into the prepared martini glass, leaving the ice behind.
  9. Garnish with an apple slice on the rim or drop a cinnamon stick into the drink and serve immediately.

Notes

Chill all ingredients beforehand in the refrigerator for best results and minimal dilution from extra ice.
