Method
- Chill your coupe or margarita glass by filling it with ice and water, then set aside while you build the cocktail.
- Cut the lime in half and juice it, straining out any pulp directly into your jigger or a small bowl.
- Pour salt onto a small plate and dampen the rim of your chilled glass with a lime wheel or water, then roll the rim in salt and discard the ice water.
- Fill your cocktail shaker about three-quarters full with ice cubes.
- Measure and add 1.5 ounces of tequila and 0.75 ounces of Aperol into the shaker.
- Add 0.75 ounces of fresh lime juice and 0.5 ounces of agave nectar to the shaker.
- Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds to chill and dilute properly.
- Strain the mixture into your salt-rimmed glass over fresh ice using a strainer.
- Garnish with a fresh lime wheel on the rim or floated on top, then serve immediately.
Notes
Serve immediately and enjoy while the drink is properly chilled. Use high-quality tequila and fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
