- Bring 8 ounces of filtered water to a rolling boil in a kettle or pot (100°C, 212°F).
- While the water heats, measure 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder into a mug.
- Add 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger, a pinch of ground cinnamon, a pinch of ground cloves, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to the mug.
- Carefully pour the boiling water into the mug over the spices.
- Stir well for 30 seconds to combine all ingredients.
- Let the tea steep for 3 to 4 minutes to extract the flavors and compounds.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon raw honey until fully dissolved.
- Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the tea and stir to combine.
- If desired, add 2 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk and stir for a creamier texture.
- Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more honey or brightness by adding more lemon juice before serving.
