Method
- Place your highball glass in the freezer for at least five minutes before mixing to keep the drink chilled longer.
- Pack your cocktail shaker about three-quarters full with ice cubes, using larger ice pieces if possible.
- Using your jigger, measure out 1/2 ounce of vodka and pour it into the shaker.
- Measure 1/2 ounce of light rum and add it to the shaker.
- Add 1/2 ounce of gin to your shaker.
- Measure 1/2 ounce of tequila and pour it into the shaker.
- Add 1/2 ounce of blue curaçao to the shaker.
- Pour 1/2 ounce of fresh lime juice and 1/2 ounce of fresh lemon juice into the shaker, followed by 1/2 ounce of simple syrup.
- Close your shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 12 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty and cold.
- Take your chilled glass from the freezer and hold your cocktail strainer over the shaker opening, then strain the drink carefully into the glass.
- Pour 2 ounces of Sprite or 7-Up over the drink and give it a gentle stir with a bar spoon.
- Place a lime wheel on the rim of the glass or drop it into the drink as a garnish and serve immediately.
Notes
Always use fresh citrus juice squeezed right before mixing for the best flavor. Use a jigger and measure everything precisely for balanced flavor. Shake hard and fast to properly aerate the drink and ensure rapid chilling. Serve immediately after pouring for optimal taste. This drink can be scaled up for parties by premixing spirits, juices, and syrup in a pitcher, but add soda and ice only right before serving.
