AMF Cocktail

A neon-bright, dangerously smooth party cocktail combining five spirits, blue curacao, sweet and sour mix, fresh citrus juices, and a splash of soda for a balanced, crowd-pleasing drink.

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1/2 ounce vodka
  • 1/2 ounce gin
  • 1/2 ounce white or light rum
  • 1/2 ounce silver or blanco tequila
  • 1/2 ounce triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1/2 ounce blue curacao
  • 1 ounce sweet and sour mix or 1:1 fresh lime juice and simple syrup
  • 1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 cup cubed ice
  • 1/2 ounce Sprite or 7-Up splash
  • 1 lime wheel for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker (Boston or standard)
  • Jigger or measuring glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Strainer or hawthorne strainer
  • Highball glass (10 to 12 oz)
  • Ice (cubed or crushed)
  • Citrus juicer
  • Mixing pitcher for batching

Method
 

  1. Gather and measure all spirits and mixers before you begin.
  2. Fill the cocktail shaker with 1 cup of cubed ice.
  3. Pour 1/2 ounce each of vodka, gin, rum, tequila, and triple sec into the shaker.
  4. Add 1/2 ounce of blue curacao to the shaker.
  5. Pour in 1 ounce of sweet and sour mix.
  6. Add 1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice and 1/4 ounce fresh lime juice.
  7. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds until frosty.
  8. Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with fresh ice.
  9. Top with a 1/2 ounce splash of Sprite or 7-Up and stir gently to combine.
  10. Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim or dropped into the drink.

Notes

Batch the base (all ingredients except soda and ice) in a pitcher up to 3 days ahead, refrigerate, then pour over fresh ice and top with soda just before serving.
